James R. Waite, Esq., is a corporate and transactional attorney with over 30 years of experience in buying, selling and leasing businesses, equipment and real estate. Mr. Waite has served as General Counsel, CEO, CFO and COO for companies ranging from airlines to equipment lessors. He wrote the American Rental Association’s book on rental contracts and has been published over 100 times in various national and international publications, including Equipment World, RER Magazine, International Rental News, Rental Magazine, ForConstructionPros and the Atlanta Journal Constitution.  He also routinely presents at industry association conferences. Richard Kaufman, Esq. is a corporate and litigation attorney with over 30 years of experience. Richard previously served as a trial attorney for nine years with the U.S. Attorneys’ Office in Denver. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, he specialized in employment discrimination claims litigating over one hundred cases and tort claims brought against the United States government, including medical malpractice and catastrophic injury claims.

Before joining the Department of Justice, he served seven years as Deputy Attorney General of the State of Colorado where he was Chief of the Enforcement Division and responsible for litigating securities, tax, Medicaid and consumer fraud cases on behalf of the State of Colorado. In addition, he was the liaison for the Attorney General to both the Governor and the Colorado General Assembly including legal analysis of all enrolled bills sent to the Governor and presenting the Attorney General legislative agenda to the General Assembly through testimony before legislative committees.

Jason Henderson, Esq. is a corporate and transactional attorney with over twenty years of experience handling complex transactions in media and IP licensing and distribution as well as product counsel and service agreements for Fortune 500 companies. A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Mr. Henderson is recognized for his expertise in technology and media personalization, and is listed as the inventor on several patents in streaming technology and real-time AI.

Mr. Henderson earned his BA in History from the University of Dallas and his Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. He currently serves as a commissioner with the Littleton Historical Preservation Commission.

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Henderson is the co-founder of Castle Bridge Media, publisher of the popular Castle of Horror Anthology series, has written for Electronic Arts and Marvel Comics, and has had multiple books optioned for film.

Lidia Pinto, Esq. is a senior corporate lawyer with over 15 years of experience serving as inside and outside counsel for various multinational companies, with experience particularly providing service to large Japanese groups doing business worldwide. Gregory Dole, Esq. is a senior attorney with JWL International, with over 27 years of experience as an International Trade attorney. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 1970, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy on the USS Midway, and subsequently attended Georgetown Law. Greg spent the next 4 years working for the senior Republican on the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, and had the distinct honor to work for President Ronald Reagan as the Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs. Following, he then devoted 27 years working as the International Trade attorney with the Boeing Company-the largest U.S. exporter of manufactured goods. Helen Hester, Esq. is a transactional and litigation attorney with almost two decades of experience in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, real estate development and land use, corporate transactions, conventional and private financing and compliance, real estate litigation, complex business litigation, commercial litigation, and construction litigation. Ms. Hester has been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer, recognizing the top 5% of attorneys in the State, for her professional achievements since 2022. From 2017 – 2021, she was distinguished as a Rising Star in real estate law by Georgia Super Lawyers. Jim Margner has 50 years of diversified federal and multistate tax experience and is an Illinois licensed CPA. A cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Business/Economics, and a Master’s in Business Administration (accounting/tax major) from the Indiana University Kelley Graduate School of Business, he has exclusively specialized in multi-state and local tax consulting since 1995.

He worked for two Chicago-based Fortune 100 companies, three national and regional accounting firms, and a large family office tax consulting firm of a multi-billionaire Chicago financier before commencing his own multi-state tax boutique practice. He has extensive experience in multi-state & local income and sales/use tax for a wide variety of public and closely held businesses, including those engaged in manufacturing, distribution, software development, transportation, financial & investment services, professional & technical services, information services, logistics, leasing, interior design, construction, real estate, retailing, advertising, healthcare, and internet (including cloud computing issues & SAS). Mr. Margner routinely consults with numerous local accounting firms as a value-added resource. He has performed due diligence for a private equity consulting firm in Atlanta.

Jim has extensive experience with multi-state Wayfair sales tax matters, transactional tax planning, tax minimization reviews, state & local tax examination and appeals representation (including Illinois Informal Conference Board & Board of Appeals), multi-state due diligence reviews (M&A), tax legal entity restructuring, multi-state tax nexus reviews and Voluntary Disclosures in virtually all states. Mr. Margner has consulting experience with multi-state personal income taxes (including residency studies), corporate income/franchise taxes, pass-through entity taxes (S corps, partnerships, trusts, and LLCs).

He has spoken at Illinois CPA Society Conferences, Chicago Tax Club, Tax Executives Institute­ Chicago Chapter, Associated Equipment Dealers CFO Conferences, IEDA annual & mid-year conferences, and the Illinois Equipment Dealers Association. Mr. Margner has authored several technical state tax articles published in the AICPA’s Tax Advisor, the Illinois CPA Society’s “Practice Advantage,” and several trade association publications dealing with Wayfair issues and technical drop-shipment transactions. He is very active in the Illinois CPA Society’s State & Local Tax Committee, where he reports quarterly on Illinois private letter ruling sales & use tax developments. Mr. Margner’s state and local tax network includes fellow practitioners, attorneys, and state tax authorities located throughout the country.

Mr. Margner is an active member of the Illinois Director’s Advisory Board, the Illinois Audit Advisory Board, the Illinois Process Advisory Board, and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce-Tax Institute and attends technical COST seminars on a regular basis.

Andrew Toig, Esq. is Of Counsel to JWL International, where he specializes in complex domestic and international commercial transactions and outside general counsel services.

Mr. Toig’s practice spans equipment, telecommunications, secured transactions, international business law, corporate governance, and technology partnerships. He brings extensive experience in contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory compliance, and risk management, delivering pragmatic legal solutions that balance business objectives with risk mitigation.

A graduate of Duke University School of Law, Mr. Toig contributes significant in-house corporate experience. He previously served as Associate Corporate Counsel for DISH Network and as Legal Fellow with Denver Water’s Office of General Counsel, where he advised on water rights, infrastructure development, and compliance matters.

A Colorado native and graduate of Colorado College, Mr. Toig founded the Law Students for Accessibility organization at Duke Law School and remains active in advocacy as a member of the Colorado Disability Bar Association. He serves as a board member of the Colorado Insurance Council and is an active member of the Greater Englewood Chamber of Commerce and Colorado State Bar Association.

Roberto Santos, Esq. is an Attorney and Public Notary with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Finance. As a management consultant with over 15 years of experience, Mr. Santos has expertise in: delivering comprehensive business plans, operational structures, international tax plans, business succession, executive estate planning, design of optimized businesses structures, financial and tax modeling, and guidance to business managers and individuals. He is also experienced in the design and implementation of private equity funds.

Alexandra Ong is a J.D. graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, she earned her B.B.A. in Management with a Pre-Law focus and a Certificate in International Business Studies from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude.

While in law school, Ms. Ong served as the Senior Editor for Race to the Bottom, the university’s business law blog. She also served as a student attorney in the Community and Economic Development Clinic, where she provided pro bono legal counsel to nonprofits and small businesses. Alexandra is also a published contributor to Colorado Evidence Courtroom Manual (2024–2025 and 2025–2026 editions).

Since joining JWL International in 2023, Ms. Ong has worked on a range of complex matters and is experienced in international legal research, contract drafting, and regulatory analysis.

Rene Del Barco is a University of Puget Sound Coolidge Otis Chapman Honors Program graduate. He received a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and two minors in Bioethics and Mathematics.

While at the University of Puget Sound, he was the three-year captain of the Varsity Men’s Tennis Team, the President of the Interfraternal Council, and he completed biochemical research on the synthesis of Bismuth Nanoparticles.

Mr. Del Barco received numerous awards and recognitions while at the University of Puget Sound such as the Roderick MacArthur Award for excellence in Presentation of the Honors Thesis and the Robin Hamilton Award for Attitude and Effort which led his team to achievement. He has professional experience in the healthcare industry as an operating room technician, an emergency medical technician, and a construction site medical technician.

Samuel J. Karmin is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he earned both a Bachelor of Information Sciences from the School of Information and a Master of Business Management from the Ross School of Business. He is currently pursuing his Juris Doctor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he is in pursuit of joining the National Trial Team and is a member of the Jewish Law Students Association. Prior to law school, Mr. Karmin built a robust career in financial planning and analysis, most recently serving as a Senior FP&A Analyst for Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group and Funding Circle LLC. In those roles, he led financial modeling, budgeting, and strategic decision-making for diverse business lines. Earlier in his career, Sam co-founded Concession Cups LLC, a sustainability-focused startup, and served as a financial consultant at Guidehouse Inc., where he advised large healthcare systems on revenue cycle improvements and EMR implementation strategies. Mr. Karmin has also held a data analytics internship with Kirkland & Ellis LLP and holds advanced certifications in financial modeling and valuation. His experience spans both corporate and consulting environments, equipping him with a unique perspective on business strategy and operational efficiency. Nancy Levy has more than 10 years in the equipment industry as a sales and marketing leader, currently serving in the role of Vice President, Business Development.

Prior to joining JWL International, Ms. Levy held jobs as a Financial Analyst for Unisys in San Jose, CA, Finance Manager for Symantec Corporation in Santa Monica, CA and Finance Manager for Cadence Design Systems/Tality Corporation in San Jose, CA. Nancy holds a BBA in Finance from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Ryan McCrae
Ryan McRae is a Research Analyst for JWL International and has been a part of the team since March 2024.
Mr. McRae graduated with honors from Coastal Carolina University, where he earned a B.A. in History with two certificates in Cultural Heritage Studies and Instructional Technology. He was proudly an honor society president while at Coastal Carolina University. He also earned an M.A. in Social Science from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
Mr. McRae utilizes his strong work ethic and dedication to objectives in his position and plans to earn a doctorate in the future while respectively pursuing careers in the legal and educational sectors.
Mr. McRae is a member of the Horry County Historic Preservation Commission in South Carolina, and is also a multi-time author as well as a Corporal in the South Carolina State Guard. He enjoys volunteering, scenic photography, fine arts and traveling in his spare time.
